That is why Fehn toys and accessories are tested by independent, accredited testing institutes to ensure compliance with the applicable safety requirements.

The quality requirements for our products are based on the applicable European and national legal regulations. In addition, we continuously monitor current regulatory and technical developments in the field of toy safety.

Our products are developed in accordance with the requirements of the European Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC and the harmonised standards applicable to toys, including the EN 71 series of standards. These define testing methods and technical requirements for various aspects of toy safety.

Among other things, Fehn products are tested in accordance with:

• EN 71-1 (Mechanical and Physical Properties)
  Testing of design, shape and dimensions, seam strength, material workmanship and safety-related mechanical properties.

• EN 71-2 (Flammability)

• EN 71-3 (Migration of Certain Elements)
  Testing for the release of elements such as lead, chromium and cadmium from accessible materials.

These tests form part of the conformity assessment procedure. By applying the CE marking, Fehn, as the manufacturer, confirms that the respective product complies with the applicable European requirements and that the prescribed conformity assessment procedure has been carried out.

We also comply with any additional regulations applicable to the respective product. These include, among others, product safety legislation, the European Textile Labelling Regulation and regulations governing materials intended to come into contact with consumers. This includes requirements relating to materials, chemical substances, product labelling, as well as the saliva and perspiration resistance of textiles.
